Overcoming the Meltdown…

July 22, 2013

Over the next few posts, we are going to talk specifically about strategies to overcome the dreaded meltdowns.  We have tried a ton – with success (although relative) and failure.

In a previous blog, simply titled MELTDOWNS, we talked about some of the things we were trying and what seemed to help both at home and in school.  Again, we are blessed with teachers, therapists and family that practice what we preach and with everyone doing their part, ZAK has found his voice and has dealt with his meltdowns in a better way.  A way that helps him from hurting himself or others and where he is not looked down upon for being “out of control”.

Starting this week, we will discuss the differences between a meltdown and a tantrum.  What strategies you can use with your child and how to help others with your plan so they can reinforce what you are trying.

To follow the conversation, please come back everyday OR sign up to follow our blog.  And please, if you have strategies of your own that you have used and work or just want to share an idea, we would love to hear from you.  Have a great week everyone.
